Plantation Drive at Tilak Nagar

At Scope for Change, we believe that change cannot be brought in a single day. It has to be brought with conscious planning, taking appropriate measures every single day. With COVID-19 pandemic still not showing any signs of abating but the life returning to normal; we thought of engaging in one favorable positive activity too.

We organised a plantation drive at Tilak Nagar, West Delhi in association with South Delhi Municipal Corporation and RWA (Registered) Tilak Nagar East alongside the drain.
The reason for choosing the location was two-pronged. Not only would planting trees ensure a sustainable ecological balance; but such growth will also beautify the area by modifying the drain. The drain was previously covered but was being treated as a garbage area; due to which the surrounding was getting polluted. Thus, we cleaned the surrounding garbage and planted trees as well.

We were really happy and surprised at the turnout. When the world is trying to focus on regaining the normalcy back; there were more than thirty-five people who came in support of our activity. Even after busy work hours, it means a lot for us that there are several people who dedicate time for a noble cause. And to our surprise, many women volunteers also participated in our plantation drive this time.

At this event, 150 trees were planted by all the volunteers together; and soon the environment was flourishing with happiness and positivity all around! We would also like to mention that all necessary precautions were followed. And in addition to maintaining adequate sanitization; all of us wore masks and gloves so that no direct contact was made.
