“To give up one’s entire self – to think solely of others – how to provide the greatest delight to others” – that is the genuine meaning of Christmas.
Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December every year to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The celebrations traditionally start by decorating Christmas trees, families getting together to share the joy of festivities and children enthusiastically waiting for their beautifully wrapped gifts on Christmas.
Less privileged children are deprived of this experience because they belong to poor backgrounds and cannot afford to celebrate Christmas. Therefore, they often spend their time doing household work. Realising their plight, we must make them part of the festivities. To bring joy to their lives and make this Christmas celebration an unforgettable experience for underprivileged children; we planned to give them a perfect gift.
Christmas Event Coverage
At Scope For Change, we also celebrated Christmas by organising an event for our children on the 20th of December 2021. We hosted this event at our learning centre in the Tilak Vihar area of New Delhi. This program took place at 4 PM, and 60 students from underprivileged families attended the event. In keeping with the spirit of giving during the festive season; we distributed blankets to each student present at the event. It brought smiles to their faces as they received their blankets, as it was the need of the hour. Ms. Komal Singh (Talent and Culture Manager at Accor Group) supported us at this event to serve the smiles.
We chose to take on the role of Santa Claus for them because they would all want to shine like stars. We all know that winters in many regions of India may be brutal, especially for the rural and urban poor who lack access to woollen clothes and blankets. An effort is attempting to provide answers to this yearly issue.

Today, all we need is some time away from the hustle and bustle of our lives. At SFC, we aim to provide a great experience of the gorgeous Green Christmas Tree being there with all-stars, light, drums, chocolates, & of course, the time spent with all these kids. Also, many thanks to Accor Group and others for their assistance in ensuring the drive’s success.
