Another step towards Food Drive

“Gareeb da muh Guru di Golakh” Sikh Concept

(Poor man’s mouth is the Guru’s coffer)

Meaning: Wherever you find a needy person, place your offerings there and understand that in this way they will reach the Guru. The offerings that do not reach the needy are useless.

The Nation is in a bad state because of the corona pandemic. A big part of India is starving to death where the daily wagers who are working in the unorganized industry are suffering the most. They are unable to support their families.

In India, hunger and poverty prevailed over the past years, despite considerable economic development. 190.7 million people are undernourished & 25% of youngsters experience hunger among the overall population of 1.3 billion people.

Why are we doing that???

As a socially responsible organization, Scope for Change was evident that we could do something to support these people. Providing the food essentials that they need under such conditions will feed the hungry for some time.

Our aim is to-

  • Feed people in terrible times.
  • Supply grocery for individuals who are jobless in this Pandemic.

We moved on to the “FOOD DRIVES” that is proved to be a great help in these challenging conditions, our ‘feed the hungry programs’ provides the necessary supply during pandemic, that is bringing smile on many faces.

Earlier-

Tilak Nagar Food Drive was a positive step towards a new beginning for the organization. Through this initiative, we supplied food and grocery at the construction site to the numerous daily wagers.

As of 23rd May 2021 and 29th May 2021-

A Food Drive has been planned for the underprivileged and maids who are struggling for their daily meal and they live in small shelters with their families in this terrible period of the ever-growing worldwide pandemic.

Here are some Insights-

  1. Areas Covered- Slum areas in Gurgaon and Sector 40 Gurugram
  2. Unprivileged Community People and Maids
  3. 150 packets donated. The bag of dry ration includes –
  • 1 LITRE Mustard Oil
  • 1 KG Sugar
  • 2 KG Flour
  • 1 KG Dal
  • 1 KG Salt packet
  • 1 KG Rice

Scope For Change went out of their way by visiting slum areas with a sincere wish to smile on their faces, as they hustle in their minds to find daily meals for their family. We have to recognize that every simple meal is a happy meal for a hungry stomach.

With the support of our donors who assist in alleviating urgent hunger in Indian for wagering, workers & others, the NGO has supplied a dry ration impacting 600 lives (considering 4 members per family).

Let us all pioneer the construction of India where nobody would sleep with an empty stomach. Let us eradicate the hunger of millions on our side by feeding and helping the ones who are in our reach.
